Job summary

Shreeja Mahila Milk Producer Company seeks an experienced procurement and dairy operations professional to manage milk procurement at chilling centers, BMCUs and MPPS. The role focuses on budgeting, route optimization, and farmer development to improve productivity and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 10–12 years in the dairy sector, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with Tamil and Telugu speaking communities.

Qualifications

• Graduate or Post Graduate in Agriculture.
• 10-12 years of relevant experience in the Dairy Industry.
• Exposure to dairy/food sector or milk cooperatives is desirable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work with local language groups (Tamil & Telugu).
• Deep understanding of the milk business, pricing trends, logistics and route mapping.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor milk procurement at chilling centers, BMCUs & MPPS and ensure efficient operations within budget.
• Run milk pooling points, BMCUs, and chilling centres to raise productivity and utilization.
• Forecast lean and flush periods, prepare annual budgets and review monthly variances.
• Monitor transport routes and vehicle timings to keep costs in check.
• Identify new milk route opportunities by surveying villages and mapping BMC sites.
• Lead farmer development programs, health camps, and capacity building with CF and milk product promotion.
• Develop procurement team, audit facilities, ensure payment as per slips, and report monthly on costs and inputs.

Role & responsibilities

Need to manage and monitor milk procurement activities at Chilling Centers, BMCUs & MPPS and its efficient operations with budgeted cost

1. Operations & Productivity: run milk pooling points, BMCUs and chilling centres, and raise productivity and capacity utilisation.
2. Procurement & Budgeting: procure to budget by forecasting lean and flush periods, prepare annual budgets and review monthly variance.
3. Route & Cost Control: monitor vehicle timings and optimise routes to keep transport cost in check.
4. New Area Development: identify BMC sites, survey potential villages and map new milk routes.
5. Farmer Development: lead farmer programmes, health camps, awareness and capacity building, and promote CF, inputs and milk products.
6. Team, Controls & Reporting: develop the procurement team, audit BMCs and CF godowns, ensure payment as per slip, and report monthly on cost and inputs.

Preferred candidate profile

Education

Graduate or Post Graduate in Agriculture

Experience

• Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in the Dairy Industry
• Exposure to dairy/food sector or milk cooperatives is desirable
