Qualifications

• 7–10+ years IT experience with cloud and DevOps.
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) experience.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions).
• Strong scripting/automation capability in Python.
• Experience embedding automated quality into deployment pipelines.
• Comfortable in Agile/DevOps environments with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Tertiary IT-related degree or equivalent experience.

About the role

At Orica, technology plays a critical role in enabling safe, efficient and data‑driven outcomes across our global operations. Within our Data, Analytics & AI (DAI) function, we continue to strengthen our cloud platforms to support analytics, data and AI products used across the business.

The Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering and operating these platforms with a strong focus on automation and built‑in quality. Rather than treating testing or quality as a separate activity, this role ensures automated checks, validations and controls are embedded directly into CI/CD pipelines before solutions reach production.

Working closely with data engineers, software engineers and business stakeholders, you will help ensure cloud environments meet Orica’s standards for security, reliability and performance, and continue to evolve through continuous improvement.

What you will be doing

• Designing, building and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform

What you will bring

• 7–10+ years of IT experience, with strong hands‑on experience in cloud and DevOps
• Practical experience with GCP
• Proven experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
• Strong scripting and automation capability (Python preferred)
• Experience embedding automated quality or validation controls into deployment pipelines
• Comfortable working in Agile / DevOps environments and engaging with cross‑functional stakeholders
• Tertiary qualification in an IT‑related discipline or equivalent experience
