Job summary

Sopra Steria is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable automation across cloud and containerised environments.

You will work on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and deployment automation while ensuring reliability, security, and operational efficiency. 04+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with Terraform for IaC, including designing and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Good understanding of CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Maven, GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with Ansible for infrastructure and configuration automation.
• Strong scripting knowledge in Bash/Shell, Python, Groovy.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and deployment processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across build, deployment, container and infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible.
• Design and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Maven.
• Automate repetitive infrastructure and deployment activities using scripting and configuration-management tools.
• Collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams to improve software delivery and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Support cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure environments where applicable.
• Follow DevOps, automation, security, scalability, and reliability best practices.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual effort, and increase deployment efficiency.

Experience

1. 4+ years of relevant experience in Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or related areas.
2. Strong hands‑on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud automation and DevOps solutions.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable automation solutions across cloud and containerised environments. The candidate will work on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and deployment automation while ensuring reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Must Have

1. Strong hands‑on experience in designing and implementing Docker and Kubernetes environments.
2. Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including designing and managing cloud infrastructure.
3. Good understanding and practical experience with CI/CD tools, including:
4. Jenkins
5. Maven
6. GitLab CI/CD
7. Experience with Infrastructure and configuration automation using Ansible.
8. Strong scripting knowledge in one or more languages such as:
9. Bash/Shell
10. Python
11. Groovy
12. Other scripting languages is an advantage.
13. Good understanding of DevOps practices, automation principles, version control, and deployment processes.
14. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across build, deployment, container, and infrastructure environments.

Good to Have

1. Sound knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud components and services.
2. Hands‑on experience with common cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, IAM, monitoring, and container services.
3. Experience in Linux system administration, including system configuration, troubleshooting, networking, and performance monitoring.
4. Knowledge of cloud security and best practices.
5. Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment.
