Job summary

Sopra Steria in Europe is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer with 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud, DevOps and automation. Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing Docker and Kubernetes environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual effort, and increase deployment efficiency.

Experience

• 4+ years of relevant experience in Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or related areas.
• Strong hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud automation and DevOps solutions.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable automation solutions across cloud and containerized environments. The candidate will work on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and deployment automation while ensuring reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Must Have

• Strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including designing and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Good understanding and practical experience with CI/CD tools, including:
• Jenkins
• Maven
• Experience with Infrastructure and configuration automation using Ansible.
• Strong scripting knowledge in one or more languages such as:
• Bash/Shell
• Python
• Other scripting languages is an advantage.
• Good understanding of DevOps practices, automation principles, version control, and deployment processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across build, deployment, container, and infrastructure environments.

Good to Have

• Sound knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud components and services.
• Hands-on experience with common cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, IAM, monitoring, and container services.
• Experience in Linux system administration, including system configuration, troubleshooting, networking, and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of cloud security and best practices.
• Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment.
