Job summary

Sopra Steria in India is seeking an autonomous Cloud Support & Automation Engineer to join our international team. You will support a multi-cloud environment (Azure, AWS), drive FinOps cost optimization, and help automate daily operations to build a more efficient infrastructure.

You will collaborate with Cloud Architects and Operators to translate daily tasks into automated workflows using PowerShell and cloud-native tools, delivering reliable, scalable solutions across multi-cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS platforms, including security best practices.
• Strong knowledge of Azure governance, including policies and initiatives.
• PowerShell scripting and experience with Azure Runbooks, Functions, and Logic Apps.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in an international team.
• A proactive, autonomous mindset with a drive to improve environments.

Responsibilities

• L2 Cloud Support: provide Level 2 tech support in a multi-cloud environment.
• FinOps & Cost Optimization: oversee cost optimization using Azure Cost Explorer and AWS cost tools.
• Automation & Scripting: turn daily ops into automated workflows with scripts and serverless tools.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an autonomous and proactive Cloud Support & Automation Engineer to join our international team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our multi-cloud environment (Azure, AWS), driving FinOps cost optimization, and automating daily operations to build a more efficient infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• L2 Cloud Support: Provide Level 2 technical support for end-user incidents and requests within a multi-vendor cloud environment.
• FinOps & Cost Optimization: Oversee FinOps operations, mastering both Azure and AWS Cost Explorer to guide projects and end-users in optimizing their cloud infrastructure costs.
• Automation & Scripting: Collaborate closely with Cloud Architects and Operators to transition day-to-day operational activities into automated workflows using scripts and cloud-native serverless tools.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven hands‑on experience with Azure and AWS platforms, including Cloud Security best practices.
• Strong knowledge of Azure governance, with required expertise in Azure Policies and Initiatives.
• Strong scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell, combined with hands‑on experience in Azure Runbooks, Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps for automating tasks in virtualized environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in an international, multicultural team.
• A strong sense of autonomy and a drive to continuously improve existing environments.

Nice-to-Haves (Bonus):

• AI-Assisted Automation: Experience or interest in leveraging AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or cloud-native AI) to accelerate scripting and troubleshooting.
• Experience in OS management and networking.
• Experience developing web interfaces to manage virtual services.

Total Experience Expected: 04-06 years
