Job summary

Apexon is seeking a Cloud Database Migration Engineer (AWS) in Hyderabad with 5+ years of experience. The role focuses on migrating on-prem relational databases to AWS using strong SQL skills, cloud architecture, and AI-accelerated tooling.

The position is hybrid, offering opportunities to design secure cloud targets and automate migrations. Responsibilities include planning migrations, converting schemas, and executing cutover plans with emphasis on security, compliance, and performance

Qualifications

• Migrating on-prem relational databases to AWS with strong SQL and performance tuning.
• Plan homogeneous/heterogeneous migrations and design secure AWS targets.
• Implement IaC and automation for migrations and post-migration tuning.

Responsibilities

• Assess on-prem workloads and plan migrations.
• Convert schemas, procedures, and SQL across engines.
• Design secure AWS targets using RDS/Aurora/EC2 and plan cutover/rollback.
• Automate deployments and optimize performance post-migration.

Role Overview

Migrate on-premises relational databases to AWS using strong database expertise, cloud architecture skills, and AI-accelerated tooling to deliver secure, reliable, low-downtime migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess on-premises workloads and plan homogeneous/heterogeneous migrations.
• Convert schemas, stored procedures, and SQL across database engines.
• Design secure AWS targets using RDS, Aurora, and EC2, and execute cutover/rollback plans.

• Awareness of downstream AI/ML pipelines, data lakes, and vector databases.

Nice to Have

• AWS Certified Database Specialty or Solutions Architect certification.
