Cloud Database Migration Engineer (AWS) – JD

Role Overview:Migrate on-premises relational databases to AWS using strong database expertise, cloud architecture skills, and AI-accelerated tooling to deliver secure, reliable, low-downtime migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess on-prem workloads and plan homogeneous/heterogeneous migrations.
• Convert schemas, stored procedures, and SQL across database engines.
• Design secure AWS targets (RDS, Aurora, EC2) and execute cutover/rollback plans.
• Automate deployments with Infrastructure as Code and tune performance post-migration.

Required Skills (Core)

• Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Db2; strong SQL and tuning.
• AWS Migration: DMS, SCT, RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3.
• Cloud Foundations: VPC, IAM, networking, Well-Architected Framework.
• Security: KMS, SSL/TLS encryption, least-privilege IAM, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Automation: Terraform/CloudFormation, Python/Bash/PowerShell, CloudWatch monitoring.

Required Skills (AI)
