Job summary

Good co India is seeking an experienced Database Architect to design and drive cloud database strategies across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including hybrid setups. The role emphasizes scalable, secure, and cost-aware solutions, migration leadership, and governance across teams.

The candidate should demonstrate hands-on skills in AWS/Azure/GCP database services, HA/DR design, performance tuning, and CI/CD with Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in database engineering, DBA, cloud architecture, or database architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP database services and cloud migrations.
• Strong knowledge of HA/DR, replication, backup/recovery, performance tuning, scalability, RPO/RTO, and capacity planning.
• Experience with AWS DMS, Azure Database Migration Service, GoldenGate, Data Guard, Always On, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Python/Shell, CI/CD, Git, and Database DevOps.
• Experience with database security, IAM/RBAC, encryption, monitoring, governance, and compliance.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, APIs, microservices, Linux/Unix, and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong solution architecture, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• AWS/Azure/GCP, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Terraform certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead cloud database architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments.
• Define scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-optimized database solutions.
• Lead database migration, modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Develop HLD/LLD, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans.

• Drive database performance tuning, capacity planning, scalability, and optimization.
• Implement database automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, Python, or Shell.
• Establish database security, governance, monitoring, compliance, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with Application, Cloud, DevOps, Security, Data Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Mentor database/cloud engineers and provide technical leadership on complex architecture and production issues.

• Strong knowledge of HA/DR, replication, backup/recovery, performance tuning, scalability, RPO/RTO, and capacity planning.
