Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer to improve cloud cost efficiency across IBM Cloud, AWS, and Azure. The role emphasizes hands-on optimization, cost governance, budgeting, forecasting, and dashboards.

You will collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and Engineering to balance cost with reliability. The ideal candidate has 9+ years of FinOps experience, strong scripting skills in Python and Shell, and certifications in cloud platforms.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in cloud cost optimization and FinOps.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud Classic and IBM Cloud VPC Gen2.
  • Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with cost allocation, tagging, budgeting, forecasting, and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with autoscaling, containerization, and distributed systems.
  • Scripting in Python and Shell.
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certification is preferred.

# Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer (FinOps)– \*\*Location:\*\* All Persistent Location – \*\*Experience:\*\* 9+ Years – \*\*Employment Type:\*\* Full-Time## About the RoleThis role focuses on improving cloud cost efficiency and financial governance across a portfolio of SaaS and hosted platforms. The position requires strong FinOps capability and hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure across IBM Cloud Classic, IBM Cloud VPC Gen2, AWS, and Azure.You will work closely with SRE, DevOps, and Engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities, improve architectural efficiency, and support cost-aware decision-making.
