Summary Of Responsibilities

Leads a team of professionals providing payroll services to clients. Participates in the development and innovation the firm’s payroll services processes. Actively consults on day-to-day payroll needs for clients, working as part of a team to provide a multi-faceted approach. Mentors and trains employees in the payroll services area. Manages client relationships and performs client billings for payroll services provided.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Oversees a team of payroll specialists and senior payroll specialists.
• Serves as a key point of contact for the regular needs of the payroll clients.
• Utilizes and optimizes the firm’s payroll software.
• Reviews quarterly payroll reports.
• Resolves or oversees the resolution of payroll related notices.li>
• Manages client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
• Makes recommendations on how to streamline processes.
• Provides feedback in order to develop the payroll services business line.
• Provides mentoring and technical training for staff in the payroll services area.
• Responsible for identifying opportunities to cross-sell Eide Bailly services to clients.
• Performs client billings for payroll services provided.
• Participates in the area of business development.
• Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
• Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Education And Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• 7+ years of experience in payroll administration including experience managing staff.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required. Valid Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant license preferred.

Knowledge And Skills

• Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, multi-state payroll registrations and reporting, and payroll-related software.
• Ability to think innovatively to incorporate technology solutions and streamlined processes.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks and using various software packages.
