Job summary

Deutsche Bank in Jaipur, India is seeking a Clearing and Settlement Operator to support settlement and reconciliation tasks across markets including CREST. You will liaise with client services, tax, UAT support, and other teams to deliver front-to-back service for clients.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in securities settlements, reconciliation, or related activities, with MBA or finance degree preferred. CREST experience is a plus and exposure to global custodians is valued.

Qualifications

• MBA or bachelor’s degree in a Finance related subject with relevant experience.
• MBA preferred. Certification in securities will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Recognize potential issues and escalate to management when necessary.
• Prepare, verify and send instructions to Depositories and Agents.
• Resolve unmatched items and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
• Prepare pending trades reports and communicate with custodian/agent to identify settlement issues.
• Monitor completion and accuracy of work and reconcile cash/stock accounts.
• Identify cash or other discrepancies and follow up until resolved.
• Escalate issues properly to avoid adverse business impact.
• Analyze processes for re-engineering opportunities and support UAT for client services.

Role Description

• Analyst - Operations for Jaipur location. Functions under the remit will be support of settlement and reconciliation tasks for multiple markets including CREST as a major. The candidate will also be required to liaise with Client Services, Network Management, Tax, UAT support, Static Data and Reconciliations to provide a front to back service delivery to clients. Region under the remit will be MMA UK.

Your key responsibilities

• Ability to recognize potential issues and take the appropriate action, including escalation to management when necessary

• Preparing, verifying and sending swift instructions to Depositories and Agent.

• Resolving problems arisen from unmatched items and implement long-term solutions for frequently occurred issues

• Preparing pending trades report and communicate with custodian/agent to identify settlement issues over telephone or via provided systems

• Monitor completion and accuracy of work that is carried out by Analyst. Assisting in reconciling cash/stock accounts against agent bank statements and resolving any breaks.

• Identifying cash or any other discrepancies to our books & records and following up till resolved.

• Escalate all issues properly, in time, to the appropriate level, to avoid any adverse impact on the business

• Ability to analyze process for re-engineering opportunities and conduct UAT Supporting client services team to resolve problem for client in term of settlement issue.

• Assist in creating proper backups through adequate cross training, within the department

• Ensure timely Settlements of instructions.

• Client Reporting To keep Team Manager informed of the exceptional occurrences, to enable appropriate action.

• Assist management in carrying out any special tasks or projects that may be required from time to time.

• Assisting the team in decision making and be the backup for the Team Manager.

• Creation and maintenance of various client and Management MIS

• Assist Team manager in Drafting/Reviewing Kops

• Should voluntarily process workload of other members to ensure load balancing in the team.

• Be innovative and come up with ideas to automate the processes.

• Should have an approach to continuously improve the process to build in efficiency in the process

Your skills and experience

Education

• MBA or bachelor’s degree in a Finance related subjects with relevant experience.

• MBA preferred. Certification in securities will be an added advantage

Preferred Work Experience

• Should have worked in an Investment Bank/Custodian/Security market intermediary

• Should have 2-4 years of work experience in securities, settlements, reconciliation or other custodian related activities.

• Expert in Crest Market will be added advantage.

• Should have exposure working with Global Custodians

• Experience in deployment of technology projects related to securities will be valuable
