Job summary

JobItUs is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to lead plant infrastructure initiatives in Maharashtra. The role focuses on expansion planning, structural design, machine foundations, and utilities for heavy industrial manufacturing facilities.

You will coordinate with cross‑functional teams, manage projects to time and budget, ensure EHS and regulatory compliance, and oversee campus maintenance of sheds, roads, and loading docks. 4–7 years of core civil experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of core civil engineering experience, with a proven track record in heavy industrial or automotive greenfield projects.
• Experience in facility expansion, machine foundations, and industrial utilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facility & Plant Expansion: plan, design, and construct new buildings or modify layouts.
• Machine Foundations: design RCC/steel foundations for heavy equipment.
• Industrial Utilities: plan and supervise drainage, water, ETP, and plumbing installs.
• Project Management: coordinate with manufacturing, contractors, and vendors to meet timelines and budgets.
• EHS & Compliance: ensure structures meet EHS norms and local regulations.
• Campus Maintenance: oversee maintenance and integrity audits of sheds, roofs, roads, and docks.

Job description

primarily focuses on plant infrastructure management, facility design, equipment foundations, and the execution of greenfield or brownfield expansion projects. Unlike mechanical engineers who design the actual car parts, civil engineers ensure that the physical manufacturing plant operates safely and can support heavy industrial machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Facility & Plant Expansion: Managing the planning, structural design, and construction of new manufacturing buildings (greenfield) or modifications to existing plant layouts (brownfield).
• Machine Foundations: Designing robust Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) and structural steel foundations capable of supporting heavy, high‑vibration manufacturing equipment like stamping presses, CNC machines, and robotic assembly lines.
• Industrial Utilities: Planning and supervising the installation of critical plant utilities, including industrial drainage, water management, effluent treatment plants (ETP), and plumbing connections.
• Project Management: Coordinating with cross‑functional manufacturing teams, external contractors, and vendors to complete civil works within designated timelines and budgets.
• EHS and Statutory Compliance: Ensuring that all structures comply with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) norms, local building codes, and municipal regulatory permissions.
• Campus Maintenance: Overseeing routine maintenance and structural integrity audits of factory sheds, roofing systems, internal roads, and logistics loading docks.

Technical and Soft Skills

• Engineering Software: Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.
• Structural Analysis: Competency in structural design tools such as STAAD.Pro to evaluate machine stress and weight distribution.
• Project Tracking: Budgeting, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and scheduling using project management methodologies.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Strong communication skills to liaise efficiently between company management, factory floors, and external contractors.

Essential Qualifications

• Experience: 4 to 7 years of core civil engineering experience, with a proven track record in heavy industrial or automotive greenfield projects.
• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
