Job Description: Project Engineer (Civil)

Job Summary

Seeking a proactive and versatile Diploma Civil Engineer to oversee and execute in-house construction and expansion projects for our upcoming factory. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on civil execution but possess a solid working knowledge of mechanical systems to coordinate equipment installations, structural steel fabrication, Electrical installation and facility modifications safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Supervision

• Oversee day-to-day civil construction activities, including foundation laying, concreting, flooring, and structural modifications.
• Manage in-house structural and building projects from initial planning through to execution and final handover.

Mechanical/Electrical & Utility Coordination

• Assist in the installation, alignment, and commissioning of heavy machinery and industrial equipment, shades.
• Oversee mechanical works such as piping, ducting, shade installation work erection-commissioning of ventilation system installations and electrical installations.
• Act as the bridge between civil foundations and mechanical installation teams, ensuring precise equipment alignment and load-bearing requirements.

Planning & Estimation

• Prepare material estimates, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and project schedules to track progress.
• Create and read technical drawings, blueprints, and layouts using AutoCAD.

Quality & Safety Compliance

• Enforce factory and construction safety regulations.
• Ensure all civil and mechanical works meet industry standards and internal quality parameters.

Vendor & Resource Management

• Coordinate with contractors, external fabricators, and equipment vendors for timely material procurement and project delivery.
• Monitor labor efficiency and manage site inventory effectively.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience: 3-4 years of experience in construction, preferably with exposure to industrial/factory projects.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong reading and interpreting of structural, architectural, and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation) drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
• Soft Skills: Problem-solving ability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
