Job summary

The Indian Hume Pipe Co Ltd invites applications for Engineer Execution. The candidate will oversee field construction of water supply and sewage pipelines, ensuring compliance with design and specs.

Requires BE Civil, 3-5 years experience, knowledge in leveling, alignment with KML, pipe handling, welding, bedding and jointing. Role involves reporting and maintaining site records with a focus on safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• BE Civil with must have experience in water supply/sewage projects.
• Good understanding of field supervision and civil construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field execution of water supply/sewage pipelines on site.
• Take alignment and levels using dumpy level or theodolite.
• Check levels (HGL, GL, invert) from approved layouts and ensure proper trench dimensions.
• Ensure unloading and stacking of pipes at site and safe handling.
• Check excavated trench dimensions to lay pipelines as per design.
• Read KML files to ensure correct alignment of pipeline route.
• Supervise laying, jointing, and welding of pipes with proper cement mortar.
• Provide proper bedding and backfill for pipelines.
• Familiar with specials and valves placement on line at right locations.
• Maintain records of laying reports and documents; report issues timely.

BE Civil (MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN WATER SUPPLY/SEWAGE PROJECTS)

Having experience in the following areas

• 1. He should have knowledge of computer operation in excel and word.
• 2. He should be able to take the levels for pipeline by dumpy level or theodolite.
• 3. He should be capable to check the various levels, HGL, GL, invert levels from the approved L section.
• 4. He should have proper knowledge of unloading and stacking of pipes at site.
• 5. He should be able to check the required dimensions of the excavated trenches to lay the pipeline at site.
• 6. He should have the knowledge of reading KML files to ensure correct alignment of the pipeline.
• 7. Proper shifting and handling of pipes from the stacking yard / on alignment to avoid damages.
• 8. He should have sufficient knowledge of procedure of laying and jointing of pipes. Proper welding of joints and wrapper fixing with good quality cement sand morter.
• 9. Proper soft bedding below pipeline and refilling of the laid pipes.
• 10. Knowledge of various specials and valves to be fixed on line at right locations.
• 11. Proper record keeping of the laying related reports and documents.
• 12. Timely and correct reporting system to immediate superiors about the quality of the laying and problems if any.
• 13. He should know the rectification procedure if any inferior quality occurred during the execution of work and get it corrected.
• 14. He should have good physical fitness and stable mentality.
• 15. Ensure supervision of all installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities are done in strict compliance with detailed design and specifications.
