Burns & McDonnell India (BMI) Power Global Practice is looking for a well-rounded and driven civil designer in the Mumbai Office to generate 2D & 3D drawings for both new and retrofit designs at various facilities. The Power Global Practice focuses on Civil Works including engineering and various professional services which offer a wide range of design and project execution experiences.

This individual will be a civil designer on a multi-disciplinary design team at a successful and growing company. Be part of a high-performance group focusing on emerging power plant-based reciprocating engine technology that’s being adopted across the U.S. and the globe.

Civil Designer will work on an integrated design team within our Power Global Practice to perform the following duties:

Role and Responsibilities

• Various civil design at power generation facilities using Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3d, Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoad Designer.
• Provide a range of drawing production work including site plans, grading plans, paving plans, improvement plans for roads and rails, stormwater drainage details, erosion control plans and other civil plans/details.
• Use other supporting software including Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Office 365, Google Earth Pro.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CAD standards and best practices.
• Learn and successfully apply company, client, and project drafting standards and procedures.
• Demonstrate ability to apply formulas, principles, and practices to complete required drawings.
• Demonstrate knowledge of assigned and related disciplines.
• Coordinate drafting activities with other designers, drafters, and design disciplines.
• Successfully communicate and correspond with internal design resources.
• Execute design changes and project drawing revisions.
• Maintain CAD proficiency and work toward mastering current CAD systems.
• Travel to the United States as required and requested to support assignments on projects and overall office needs.
• All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil (general) engineering with a minimum of 2 years related experience or bachelor’s degree in drafting technology with a minimum of 4 years related experience or Diploma in civil engineering with a minimum of 5 to 6 years solid experience
• Knowledge on land development, site development and master development project working experience on preliminary stage, detail design stage and final plot stage
• Solid US project experience and local municipal or city standards knowledge is essential experience in another region will be beneficial
• Ability to work independently and use design and drafting tool such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoad Designers tool
• Intermediate working knowledge in Navisworks manage and clash analysis will be burnouse
• Good knowledge in basic civil design, calculations and design systems
• Should be able to work with under supervision and able to deliver the projects on time with proper QA and QC procedures
• Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers both in Mumbai and Counter Part professionals) in a multi-discipline project team environment
• Ability to work on tight deadlines and good time management skills are essential
• Ability to pay attention to details and should have positive approach
• Essential English written & verbal communication
