Job summary

Transworld Furtichem Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Project Civil Design Engineer to lead civil and structural design activities for industrial projects, especially in the chemical sector.

You will manage front-end engineering, contractor coordination, planning, and documentation to ensure projects stay within scope, budget and schedule. The ideal candidate has 10–12 years in civil design for chemical plants, with EPC-LS/EPCM/PMC experience and a strong focus on HSE and regulatory

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Project Civil Design Engineer to manage civil and structural engineering design activities for industrial projects, particularly in the chemical industry. The candidate will be responsible for front-end engineering design, contractor coordination, project planning, technical documentation, cost control and execution support, ensuring projects are completed within the defined scope, budget and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering design activities for industrial projects.
• Develop front-end civil and structural design documentation before engaging engineering contractors.
• Review and approve civil engineering drawings, specifications and documents submitted by engineering contractors.
• Coordinate with project teams, operating sites, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation and execution.
• Ensure projects are delivered within the approved scope, budget and timelines.
• Manage engineering contractors, civil material suppliers and third-party vendors.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress, evaluate performance and report deviations to project management.
• Manage changes in project scope, schedules and costs.
• Maintain project documentation, engineering records and document control systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Indian and international engineering codes and standards.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements and promote a zero-incident work culture.
• Ensure compliance with factory rules, PESO requirements and relevant civil construction practices.
• Support maintenance-related civil engineering requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 10 - 12 years of overall experience in civil engineering design, preferably with exposure to maintenance activities.
• Strong experience in industrial civil and structural design, particularly for chemical plants.
• Experience handling projects with investments exceeding 10 crore.
• Experience working with an owner's project team or an engineering consultancy.
• Good understanding of the complete Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) cycle.
• Familiarity with EPC-LS, EPCM and PMC project execution models.
• Knowledge of civil construction practices, engineering standards, factory regulations and PESO requirements.
• Strong project management, analytical, organisational and people management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate stakeholders and resolve technical challenges effectively.
