Position Network Wireless Security Engineer Cisco ISE WLC Access Points
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Network Wireless Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco Identity Services Engine ISE, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers WLC, and Cisco Access Point AP deployments. The candidate will be responsible for end‑to‑end implementation, migration, administration, and troubleshooting of enterprise wireless and network access control environments, including cloud‑managed wireless solutions and migration of on‑premises WLC infrastructure to cloud platforms.
The ideal candidate should possess hand‑on experience in large‑scale enterprise deployments, migrations, operational support, and root‑cause analysis of chronic network issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Implement and manage 802.1X authentication for wired and wireless networks.
- Configure TACACS+, RADIUS device administration, guest access, and BYOD services.
- Integrate Cisco ISE with Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, PKI, and third‑party security solutions.
- Implement posture assessment, profiling, and network segmentation policies.
- Perform Cisco ISE upgrades, migrations, backup/recovery, and health monitoring.
Cisco Wireless WLC & Access Points
- Implement, configure, and manage Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (9800 Series, AireOS, or Catalyst‑based platforms).
- Deploy, configure, and optimize Cisco Access Points across enterprise environments.
- Handle WLAN design, RF optimization, roaming, high‑density deployments, and performance tuning.
- Manage cloud‑hosted Cisco WLC environments and maintain wireless services in cloud infrastructure.
- Execute migration of on‑premises WLC environments to cloud‑based WLC deployments.
- Plan and perform WLC upgrades, software lifecycle management, and controller migrations with minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot wireless connectivity, authentication, coverage, roaming, and performance issues.
Migration Implementation
- Lead end‑to‑end migration activities involving Cisco ISE upgrades and migrations.
- Lead WLC migrations from on‑premises to cloud.
- Lead Access Point onboarding and migration.
- Lead wireless infrastructure refresh projects.
- Develop migration strategies, implementation plans, rollback procedures, and validation checklists.
- Perform site surveys, readiness assessments, and post‑migration support.
Operations & Troubleshooting
- Provide L2/L3 operational support for enterprise network and wireless environments.
- Monitor network and wireless infrastructure health and performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and chronic issues.
- Resolve complex authentication, connectivity, roaming, and infrastructure issues.
- Prepare operational documentation, SOPs, HLD/LLD, and knowledge‑transfer materials.
Required Technical Skills

- Network Infrastructure: Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), LAN/WAN routing, switching, VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, TCP/IP networking, NAT, ACLs, QoS.
- Core Networking Services: DNS, DHCP, NTP.
- Active Directory Integration, PKI/certificates.
- Troubleshooting: Packet capture analysis (Wireshark), wireless RF troubleshooting, authentication & authorization issues, network performance analysis, root cause analysis and problem management.
Required Experience
6 years of experience in enterprise networking and wireless technologies.
6 years of hands‑on experience with Cisco ISE, Cisco WLC, and Access Point deployments.
Proven experience in WLC migration projects, including on‑premises to cloud migration.
Experience managing cloud‑hosted wireless controller environments.
Strong implementation and migration experience across large enterprise environments.
Experience supporting mission‑critical production environments.
Preferred Certifications
- Cisco Certified Specialist Enterprise Wireless Implementation
- Cisco Certified Specialist Security Identity Management (ISE)
