Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a skilled wireless network professional to design, deploy, and manage enterprise WLAN infrastructures across large campuses. The role emphasizes Cisco Catalyst Wireless, AireOS, and Catalyst 9800 WLC environments.

You will configure WLCs/APs, perform RF planning and site surveys, optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and document standards. Collaboration with Network, Security, and Infrastructure teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying WLANs in enterprise environments.
• Proficient with Cisco Catalyst Wireless, AireOS and Catalyst 9800 WLCs.
• Able to perform RF planning, site surveys, and capacity assessments.
• Strong troubleshooting of wireless coverage, roaming, and authentication.
• Familiar with secure wireless access controls and authentication frameworks.
• Coordinate with Network, Security and Infrastructure teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and standards.
• Knowledge of Cisco Nexus switches, WAN technologies, and routing/switching.
• Understanding of firewalls and network security concepts.

Role & responsibilities

Wireless:

• Design, deploy, and manage Cisco Wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructures across enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with Cisco Catalyst Wireless, Cisco AireOS, and Cisco Catalyst 9800 WLC platforms.
• Configure, maintain, and support Cisco Wireless Controllers (WLCs) and Access Points (APs).
• Perform RF planning, site surveys, capacity assessments, and wireless optimization activities.
• Troubleshoot wireless issues related to coverage, interference, authentication, roaming, and performance.
• Implement and maintain secure wireless network access controls and authentication frameworks.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless wireless connectivity.
• Monitor wireless network health and proactively address performance issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Knowledge of Cisco Nexus Switches, Wireless, WAN technologies
• Good knowledge of Routing and Switching protocols
