Job summary

Cipla in Mumbai is seeking a formulation scientist to develop and optimize pharmaceutical dosage forms such as tablets, capsules and oral liquids, driving robust product development from concept to bench.

You will conduct pre-formulation and formulation studies, plan lab trials and scale-up batches, prepare technical documentation, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure GMP and regulatory compliance throughout R&D to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize pharmaceutical formulations such as tablets, capsules, oral liquids, or other dosage forms.
• Conduct pre-formulation and formulation development studies.
• Plan and execute lab trials, scale-up batches and stability studies.
• Perform optimization of formulation composition and manufacturing processes.
• Prepare and maintain development reports, protocols and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with Analytical, Regulatory, QA, Manufacturing and Technology Transfer teams.
• Support scale-up and technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing-related issues.
• Ensure activities are carried out in line with applicable GMP and regulatory requirements.
