Qualifications

Job description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead our comprehensive risk management framework. The CRO will be responsible for overseeing the entire risk management framework, strategies, and policies within the organization, ensuring robust identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of all types of risks, particularly within the NBFC, HFC, or Banking sectors. This critical role will drive a strong risk culture and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership and the Board.

Key Responsibilities:
  • – Develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • – Oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of all significant risks across the organization.
  • – Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • – Lead and mentor the risk management team, fostering a strong, proactive risk culture across all departments.
  • – Provide strategic guidance and expert advice to the Board of Directors and senior management on all risk-related matters, including emerging risks.
  • – Manage and optimize the organization’s risk appetite statement and limits, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • – Conduct regular stress tests and scenario analyses to evaluate potential impacts on the organization’s financial health and operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • – Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in risk management, with significant leadership roles, preferably within the NBFC, HFC, or Banking sectors.
  • – Proven expertise and in-depth understanding of:
    1. 1. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and implementation.
    2. 2. Credit Risk Management methodologies and practices.
    3. 3. Market Risk Management strategies and tools.
    4. 4. Operational Risk Management, including technology and cyber risks.
    5. 5. Regulatory Compliance, particularly with frameworks like Basel Accords.
    6. 6. Risk Governance structures and reporting.
    7. 7. Stress Testing and scenario analysis techniques.
    8. 8. Financial Modeling and quantitative analysis.
    9. 9. Data Analytics for risk insights.
  • – Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and industry best practices.
  • – Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • – Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • – Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA).
  • – Experience in Strategic Planning within a financial institution.
  • – Demonstrated ability in Crisis Management and business continuity planning.
  • – Advanced Quantitative Analysis skills.
  • – Proficiency in Project Management for risk-related initiatives.
  • – Understanding of Cybersecurity Risk management principles.
