- Candidate should have 15+ years of relevant experience in project controls / PMO functions, preferably in the chemicals, oil & gas, or heavy manufacturing sector
- Cost control and earned value management budget tracking, accruals, forecasting, EAC, contingency reporting, and cashflow preparation in large capital projects
- Integrated schedule development and monitoring proficiency in scheduling tools; ability to develop, validate, and maintain project schedules across EPC phases
- Risk management hands‑on experience building and running risk identification, mitigation, and reporting programs across complex, multi‑project portfolios
- Stakeholder coordination and reporting — strong communication skills with ability to align engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams; experience preparing executive dashboards and project status reports
- EPC / EPCM contracting — familiarity with contracting structures, contractor performance monitoring, and expediting within capital projects context
- Core domain competencies include:
- Project cost control and earned value management
- Integrated schedule development and monitoring
- Risk identification, management, and mitigation
- Reporting and performance dashboards for project leadership
- Cross‑functional coordination across EPC / EPCM functions
- Establish and lead the centralized project controls function; develop frameworks, policies, and reporting standards covering cost control, schedule control, and risk management across all active capital projects
- Build and monitor the project controls team, emphasizing knowledge transfer, coaching, and alignment with company strategy and PMO objectives
- Oversee all cost control activities including budget allocations, transfers, commitments, accruals, forecasting, and estimates at completion (EAC); track performance across key dimensions (project overall, by area, and for high‑cost items); identify and resolve cost irregularities; prepare cashflow and foreign exchange impact analyses
Own schedule development and control: establish the basis for integrated project schedules, maintain and update them throughout execution, report physical progress to project leadership, and coordinate planning inputs across engineering procurement, construction, and operations
procurement, construction, and operations
- Lead risk management: develop and maintain the risk register, assign clear owners, monitor mitigation plans, and hold regular risk reviews; immediately escape any issue that may materially impact the project to the Project Manager
- Develop and maintain the project controls dashboard; agree upfront with project leadership and contractor contacts on key performance indicators and reporting cadence (e.g., bi-weekly progress reports covering schedule and cost performance)
- Coordinate with EPC functions on expediting plans, contractor performance monitoring, and corrective actions required to arrest schedule or cost deviations
- Ensure a clear and consistent basis for cost and schedule tracking among all key stakeholders, including cost estimators, procurement teams, and finance
