Job summary

Diamond Atelier in Mumbai seeks a master Lighting Specialist to own lighting for diamond jewelry across still photography and video. You will work closely with our Photographers, Cinematographers, Directors, Stylists and Content Team to ensure lighting excellence on set.

You will design and execute lighting setups that balance fire, brilliance, scintillation, contrast and reflections, making stones look crisp and true to quality on camera.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design lighting for jewelry photography and video.
• Understanding of how light interacts with diamonds and metal.
• Experience on set with photographers and cinematographers is a plus.

• Ensure diamonds look crisp, dimensional and true to their quality on camera.

• Collaborate with photographers and cinematographers as the lighting authority on set.
• Experiment and push beyond conventional studio lighting to maximize diamond performance on camera.

Diamond Atelier is a New York–headquartered lab‑grown diamond company powering premium loose diamonds across the USA. As we build our luxury D2C jewelry brand in NYC, we are looking for a master Lighting Specialist in Mumbai.

We are looking for a Chief Lighting Technician who understands diamonds.

Not just someone who knows how to light a room, a model or a product — but someone who understands how light behaves on a diamond and fine jewelry, and knows how to make it look exceptional on camera.

You will work closely with our Photographers, Cinematographers, Directors, Stylists and Content Team, taking complete ownership of lighting for both still photography and video.

What you’ll do

• Design and execute lighting setups specifically for diamond jewelry.
• Create the right balance of fire, brilliance, scintillation, contrast, reflections and definition.
• Ensure diamonds look crisp, dimensional and true to their quality in both photography and video.
• Work hands‑on during shoots and continuously refine lighting based on the stone, cut, metal, design and camera.
• Develop repeatable lighting techniques and setups for different jewelry categories.
• Collaborate with photographers and cinematographers while being the lighting authority on set.
• Experiment, test and push beyond conventional studio lighting to discover what makes diamonds perform best on camera.

Who we’re looking for

We care far more about what you can do with light than where you learned it.

You could be a trained photographer, cinematographer, gaffer, lighting designer, product photographer — or someone who simply became obsessed with understanding light and has spent years figuring it out yourself.

A formal photography/cinematography education is not mandatory.

What matters is that you genuinely understand:
