Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the overall business operations of a chemical manufacturing organization, with a strong focus on production, plant operations, operational excellence, safety, quality, and business growth.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in chemical manufacturing processes, production planning, plant capacity utilization, cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and managing large-scale manufacturing facilities. The candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, improving profitability, and ensuring safe and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Production Management

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across chemical production facilities.
• Ensure achievement of production targets, capacity utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Optimize manufacturing processes, production planning, and resource utilization.
• Implement lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Monitor plant performance through KPIs, including yield, downtime, throughput, and production costs.

2. Plant Management & Technical Excellence

• Oversee chemical process operations, plant maintenance, utilities, and engineering functions.
• Ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and plant availability.
• Drive process optimization, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and yield improvement.
• Lead plant expansion, modernization, and capital expenditure projects.

3. Safety, Environment & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and chemical manufacturing regulations.
• Promote a strong process safety culture, including risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and incident prevention.
• Ensure adherence to pollution control, hazardous waste management, and statutory requirements.
• Oversee implementation of EHS policies and safety audits.

4. Business Strategy & Financial Performance

• Develop and execute business strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, EBITDA improvement, and cost control.
• Manage annual operating plans, budgets, capital investments, and operational expenditure.
• Identify opportunities for business expansion, new product development, and market diversification.

5. Quality & Supply Chain Management

• Ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with customer specifications.
• Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, R&D, sales, and finance teams.
• Optimize raw material consumption, inventory, logistics, and working capital.
• Build strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and strategic partners.

6. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead senior leadership teams across production, engineering, EHS, quality, supply chain, and commercial functions.
• Develop organizational capability, succession plans, and performance management systems.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and a high-performance culture.
• Report business and operational performance to the Board of Directors.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business Management is preferred.

Required Experience & Skills

• 10-15+ years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Significant leadership experience as CEO, COO, Business Head, Plant Head, or Director of Operations.
• Strong expertise in chemical production, process engineering, and multi-plant operations.
• Proven track record in operational improvement, cost optimization, and profitability enhancement.
• Strong understanding of process safety, environmental compliance, and quality management systems.
• Experience managing large teams, budgets, and capital investment projects.
• Excellent strategic planning, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
