Job summary

Indagro Foods is seeking a Laboratory Chemist (Site) to conduct chemical testing in the in-house laboratory and maintain documentation. The role involves preoperational hygiene checks, testing raw materials and meat products, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001/ISO 22000.

The candidate should have a graduate or postgraduate degree in Analytical/Organic/Industrial Chemistry, 1–2 years’ experience, and strong MS Office skills to prepare reports and records.

Qualifications

• Graduate or Post-Graduate in Analytical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry.
• 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience in export of meat & meat products would be an added advantage.
• Good report writing skills and record keeping.
• Computer knowledge especially MS Office to prepare reports independently and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Plant preoperational Hygiene inspection and preparation of report.
• Testing of raw materials- salt, Sodium hypochlorite, lime, alum, caustic/acid etc. and packaging materials.
• Chemical Testing of Meat & its by-products-MBM, Gel Bone, Animal Fat, Blood Meal etc.
• Jaundice test of carcasses.
• Water testing (Potable water, Process water, Boiler water, Cooling tower, RO water, ETP water).
• Fuel testing (HSD).
• Plant fumigation as per schedule.
• Preparation of standard chemical solutions for lab.
• In-house calibration of lab instruments and record maintenance.
• Preparation & keeping of ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 documents & records.
• Monitoring of online process activities with QA head & plant head coordination.
• Provide awareness training on food safety culture, GMP, GHP & personal hygiene.
• Pre-shipment inspection of carcasses/offal/by-product.
• Data feeding of ERP.
• Online carcass quality inspection.
• Physical & chemical testing of meat.

• Data feeding of ERP.
• Online carcass quality Inspection.
• Physical & chemical Testing of meat.
• Knowledge of computer MS Office (MS-Word, Power Point, Excel).

NOTE: Besides above responsibilities management may be assign other duties & responsibilities time to time.
