Job summary

Dalmia Bharat Ltd is seeking a Graduate chemist to conduct chemical tests, develop improvement methods, and prepare test solutions for lab personnel. You will analyze organic and inorganic compounds using chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry to determine properties and reactions.

You will lead model area development, organize the workspace per 5S, document results, ensure safety, and contribute to digitization and analytics initiatives while guiding junior staff.

• Conduct chemical tests and develop improvement methods.
• Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory personnel.
• Analyze organic and inorganic compounds using chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry.
• Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
• Organize the workspace per 5S for efficiency and maintain the area.
• Compile and analyze test information to diagnose malfunctions and improve efficiency.
• Maintain equipment logs and update day-to-day activity tracker.
• Advise personnel on test procedures and impact of analyses on materials.
• Induce changes in composition via heat, light, energy, or catalysts for analysis.
• Write technical papers and prepare standards for processes and tests.
• Label materials properly and maintain chemical stock.
• Suggest improvements to procedures to achieve project objectives and standardize processes.
• Ensure health and safety standards and proper safety equipment during procedures.
• Drive growth for DCBL and promote digitization and automation.
• Utilize advanced analytics tools to derive key insights.
• Review and monitor team performance and provide developmental inputs.
• Recommend training for team development.

1. Conduct chemical tests and build improvement methods Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct test Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions, utilizing chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods Work on model area development as per 5S- organize the work space for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions Ensure the equipment log is timely filled and regularly update the day to day activity tracker Confer with scientists and engineers to conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components and physical properties of materials Induce changes in composition of substances by introducing heat, light, energy, and chemical catalysts for quantitative and qualitative analysis Write technical papers and reports; and prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests Ensure that materials are labeled properly and used in right quantities; maintain sufficient stock of chemicals and supplies to perform lab experiments Suggest improvements for test procedures to achieve project objectives and work towards development of standard procedures to improve quality and efficiency Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to while performing the tests and ensure that the necessary safety equipment is used during chemical procedures Take initiatives to drive growth for DCBL and ensure sustained growth in line with long-term and short-term objectives of the organization Ensure initiation and sensitization of the employees towards digitization and automation of the processes Focus on utilization of advanced business analytics tools to derive key insights critical for the success of the organization 2. Self/ Team Development Review and monitor performance of team members and provide requisite developmental support/ inputs Recommend training as required for team development Develop the team and update their knowledge base to cater the organization need Strategize avenues for enhancing employee satisfaction in the function, resulting in high engagement levels of employees
