Job summary

AVA Chemicals in Mumbai seeks a chemistry professional for the QC/Testing team to support production and R&D with routine analytical work.

You will conduct AAS analyses, calibrate instruments, maintain records, prepare COAs, and coordinate with Production and Stores to ensure timely sampling and release. BSc/MSc in Chemistry with hands-on lab approach preferred.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Chemistry or related field.
• Experience in QC lab and analytical testing is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct RM and FG PM testing on receipt before approval for production use.
• Perform in-process testing at defined production stages.
• Conduct finished goods testing prior to dispatch clearance.
• Perform and record AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy) analyses as required.
• Prepare and standardize volumetric solutions for testing.
• Analyze RM/FG samples and generate reports.
• Test D.M. water, MIDC water & Distilled water daily.
• Maintain stock for lab chemicals / reagents.
• Daily housekeeping of QC lab.
• Perform daily pH meter and weighing balance calibration.
• Maintain calibration records for testing instruments.
• Maintain cleaning records for lab equipment and glassware.
• Enter test results into batch sheets accurately and on time.
• Prepare lot sublot and batch sheets.
• File analytical part in the GRN.
• Prepare and record ISO documents.
• Preserve control samples as per retention protocol.
• Prepare Certificate of Analysis (COA) for finished goods.
• Maintain sample retention register.
• Data entry of tested samples in relevant registers.
• Prepare daily QC workplan.
• Conduct COD testing of ETP-treated water.
• Support R&D with batch testing for new product development and trials.
• Coordinate with Production for in-process sample collection and clearance timing.
• Coordinate with Stores for raw material hold/release status.
• Escalate out-of-specification results to QC Manager promptly.
• Any other task assigned by management from time to time depending on business requirement.
