Job summary

TAPI - Technology & API Services in Dadri, India, seeks an Organic Chemistry professional to drive process development and scale-up of API syntheses within a collaborative R&D setting.

You will conduct literature reviews, review patents, design eco-friendly synthesis routes using DOE, and collaborate with Kilo Lab and pilot-scale teams to deliver robust processes for manufacturing scale.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry with 2-3 years of relevant industrial experience
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry with 1-2 years in process development and scale-up

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature searches and support literature survey reports for synthesis steps and molecules
  • Identify, organise and review patents and technical papers
  • Develop cost-effective, non-infringing, safe and eco-friendly synthesis technologies for APIs using sustainability and DOE tools
  • Identify and prepare impurities; plan, execute and record experiments with accurate data compilation
  • Collaborate with Analytical, PRD and Kilo Lab teams on process development activities
  • Upscale development technologies at Kilo Lab and pilot scale
  • Prepare safety reports, literature surveys, cost sheets and process documentation
  • Develop knowledge of ACMI reports, ICH guidelines and IP considerations
  • Maintain EHS and compliance standards throughout activities
  • Pursue continuous professional development through self-study and seminars

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature searches and support literature survey reports for assigned synthesis steps and molecules
  • Identify, organise and review relevant patents and technical papers
  • Develop cost-effective, non-infringing, safe and eco-friendly synthesis technologies for complex and small molecule APIs using sustainability and statistical (DOE) tools
  • Identify and prepare impurities; plan, execute and record experiments with accurate data compilation
  • Collaborate with Analytical, PRD and Kilo Lab teams on process development activities
  • Conduct carry-over studies and contribute to technical discussions
  • Upscale development technologies at Kilo Lab and pilot scale
  • Prepare safety reports, literature surveys, cost sheets and process documentation
  • Develop knowledge of ACMI reports, ICH guidelines (Q-3, M-7, Q-9, Q-11) and intellectual property considerations
  • Maintain EHS and compliance standards throughout all activities
  • Pursue continuous professional development through self-study, lab discussions and departmental seminars

Required Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of organic chemistry and spectroscopy
  • Understanding of ICH guidelines and basic intellectual property principles
  • Practical experimental skills and scale-up experience
  • Critical thinking and strong observational abilities
  • Problem-solving capability
  • Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong communication skills

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates with a strong academic background and hands‑on industry experience in organic chemistry. The ideal candidate will have:

  • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant industrial experience
    OR
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry with at least 1-2 years of experience in process development and scale‑up.
