Job summary

Satven in India seeks a CAD Design Engineer focused on chassis systems. You will develop CAD models, drawings and GD&T in CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX for suspension, brakes, wheels, and other chassis components.

The role requires collaboration with D&R engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. Ground-up design from concept to production and strong NPD process knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX for chassis components.
• Expertise in GD&T and detailed drawing creation.
• Hands-on sheet metal design and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Teamcenter Engineering and Vismockup workflows.
• Flexibility to work across time zones on global projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop CAD models and drawings for Chassis components (suspension, brakes, wheels).
• Apply GD&T and ensure manufacturability for production.
• Collaborate with D&R engineers and suppliers for technical decisions.
• Lead ground-up design from concept to production with feasibility checks.

Domain knowledge

• 1. Extensive Knowledge in CATIA V5 / 3DX (GSD, Part Modelling, Drawing, Assembly & Kinematics)
• 2. Expert in Sheetmetal design, Engineering operations, Manufacturing processes
• 3. Good Knowledge and hands-on experience in GD&T
• 4. Good Knowledge in Teamcenter Engineering & Vismockup
• 5. Knowledge in WERS, GPDS & DPA 0/1, Global Change Management (GCM) process would be an advantage
• 6. Having flexibility to work across time zones as role involves extensive interaction globally

Job Description

• 1. Expertise in Chassis Systems Design and Development - Brakes, Suspension, Wheels/Tires
• 2. Responsible for developing CAD models, Drawings & GD&T in CATIA / 3DX, for Chassis components in Suspension, Brakes, Steering
• 3. Functional expertise in design and development of Chassis aggregates and to take technical decisions with D&R Engineers and suppliers as required
• 4. Ability to ground-up design of Chassis components through detailed design and delivery into production, by establishing manufacturing, assembly and service feasibility
• 5. Good understanding of New Product Development process, program milestones and delivery success criteria for Engineering
