Job summary

Tata Technologies in Pune is seeking a CAD design engineer for automotive components. You will create 3D CATIA models and 2D drawings, manage packaging, and support parts release via PLM, collaborating with leads and suppliers.

Key duties include packaging, tolerance analysis, DFMEA inputs, and design robustness. You will develop brackets, sensor mounts, air routing, and ensure manufacturing feasibility, using CATIA V5/V6, GD&T, and release procedures.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5–15 years hands-on CAD design experience in automotive components/systems.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, 2D drawing creation, GD&T, and automotive release processes.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and component integration.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in CATIA (GD&T, drawing standards, BOM).
• Perform packaging and interface design (clearances, motion envelopes, serviceability, assembly feasibility).
• Apply DFM/DFA principles; select materials/processes (sheet metal, cast/forged, plastics, weldments as applicable).
• Support tolerance stack-ups and design robustness; provide DFMEA inputs.
• Release parts in PLM; manage ECR/ECO and configuration control.
• Support supplier CAD data exchange, drawing reviews, and prototype/build issue closure.
• Design and package compressor/reservoir/valve block brackets, sensor mounts, and pneumatic routing hardware.
• Develop routing for air lines and retention clips ensuring protection from heat/chafe and motion envelopes.
