About the Role
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant to manage accounting, taxation, and compliance assignments for a portfolio of clients. The role involves reviewing financial records, preparing and finalising accounts, ensuring timely statutory compliance, and providing practical advice to clients on accounting and tax matters.
The ideal candidate should be technically sound, organised, and comfortable managing multiple client assignments independently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage and review accounting records for clients.
- Supervise bookkeeping and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Prepare and finalise financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, and related schedules.
- Review bank reconciliations, ledgers, receivables, payables, and other accounting records.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and coordinate with clients for corrections.
- Assist clients with accounting systems, processes, and financial reporting.
2. Direct Taxation
- Prepare and review income tax returns for individuals, firms, companies, and other entities.
- Handle computation of taxable income and tax liabilities.
- Prepare tax audit reports and related documentation, where applicable.
- Assist with tax planning and provide practical advice on tax matters.
- Handle income tax notices, assessments, and related correspondence.
- Ensure timely compliance with applicable income tax requirements.
3. GST & Indirect Taxation
- Review GST registrations, returns, and related compliance.
- Assist with GST reconciliations, including books vs. GST returns.
- Handle GST notices, assessments, and departmental correspondence.
- Advise clients on routine GST matters and compliance requirements.
4. Client Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Understand client requirements and ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting or tax queries.
- Explain financial statements, tax positions, and compliance requirements in a clear and practical manner.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients.
5. Team & Practice Management
- Supervise and review work performed by accounting staff and article assistants.
- Plan assignments and monitor deadlines.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of work before submission to clients or authorities.
- Maintain proper documentation and working papers.
