Job summary

Bastiat Stays in India is seeking a Sales Manager to drive growth of our short-term rental portfolio. You will create listings on OTAs such as Airbnb, Makemytrip, Booking.com and Agoda, coordinate with homeowners to align calendars and pricing, and convert leads into signed partnerships.

• Avoiding overbooking
• Coordinating with photographers and videographers
• Signing up more Airbnb owners
• Editing and perfecting all our listings
• Signing up at least 3 influential content creators a month

Preferred candidate profile

I run Bastiat Stays, and Im looking for a sales manager. This is not a job where you smoke marijuana in a treehouse in the high Himalayas at the end of the habitable world. Here there’s work to do. I’m looking for a brilliant workaholic who knows it’s difficult to partition large, time-sensitive projects across multiple employees rather than entirely to employee preferences for long hours. Are you a minimalist who asks, “What is the least I can do to keep my job?” I’ll sack you on the spot. Stay lazy. Stay lustful. Stay gluttonous.

What would the work be like? You’ll create listings on OTAs like Airbnb, Makemytrip, booking.com and Agoda. You’ll be a salesperson. You’ll convince insanely entitled vacation rental owners and customers to enter voluntary transactions for mutual benefit. Yes, you'll handle our disgruntled customers when we're overbooked. You'll do a lot that isn't fun——handling employees who block Airbnb calendars, assist you, create invoices, negotiate with vacation rental owners, sync our calendars, send reservation lists. We’ve put on a lot of new business in the season, and you’ll help streamline the process. But on the upside, you'll be working with the most inhospitable man who probably hosts more Airbnb guests than anybody in this country. And you'll learn how to generate passive income from vacation rentals. You'll learn how to build an entire town where nothing existed, without sweating. And we pay very well.
