Job summary
Applied Cloud Computing in Pune (Viman Nagar) seeks an L2 CDN Engineer to manage Akamai and Cloudflare, optimize CDN delivery, and strengthen edge security across multi-cloud environments.
You will troubleshoot incidents, tune WAF rules, manage DNS and SSL, and collaborate with security, network, and software teams to keep web apps fast and resilient.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of CDN technologies and networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with Akamai CDN and Cloudflare CDN & WAF.
- Knowledge of Linux administration and scripting basics (Shell/Python).
- Experience with REST APIs and monitoring/log analysis tools.
Responsibilities
- CDN Operations & Support: Manage Akamai and Cloudflare CDN platforms, configure properties, purge cache, and tune routing policies.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot L2 production issues, analyze HTTP/DNS/TLS problems, and coordinate resolutions.
- Security & WAF Operations: Manage WAF rules, rate limiting, bot protection, geo-blocking, and DDoS mitigation.
- DNS & SSL Management: Configure DNS records, manage SSL onboarding/renewal, and validate TLS configurations.
- Monitoring & Performance: Monitor edge health, optimize cache performance, and analyze latency with Grafana/Splunk/Datadog/Kibana.
- Automation & Change: Implement changes via APIs/CLI, use IaC and CI/CD, document SOPs and RCA reports.

We are looking for a skilled and proactive L2 CDN & Edge Security Engineer to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise CDN and edge security platforms including Akamai Technologies and Cloudflare environments.
The engineer will be responsible for supporting global web applications, CDN delivery optimization, WAF policy management, DNS operations, SSL certificate management, DDoS mitigation support, and troubleshooting production incidents across multi-cloud environments.
The ideal candidate should have strong networking fundamentals, hands‑on CDN troubleshooting experience, and knowledge of web security technologies.
- Manage and support CDN platforms including Akamai and Cloudflare.
- Configure and maintain CDN properties, cache policies, and routing rules.
- Perform cache purging/invalidation activities.
- Configure and troubleshoot origin connectivity issues.
- Support global traffic acceleration and content optimization.
- Handle L2 production incidents and escalations from L1 teams.
- Troubleshoot HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS, and CDN-related issues.
- Investigate website latency, downtime, and cache performance issues.
- Analyze CDN logs, traffic patterns, and edge behavior.
- Coordinate with application, cloud, network, and security teams for issue resolution.
- Manage WAF rules, rate limiting, bot protection, and geo‑blocking policies.
- Investigate DDoS attacks and support mitigation activities.
- Tune security policies to reduce false positives.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts and suspicious traffic activity.
- Support OWASP Top 10 protection implementation.
- Configure and manage DNS records including A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, and MX records.
- Manage SSL certificate onboarding, renewal, and troubleshooting.
- Validate TLS configurations and certificate chains.
- Support DNS failover and load balancing configurations.
- Monitor CDN health, edge performance, and traffic analytics.
- Optimize cache hit ratios and origin offload.
- Analyze latency, bandwidth usage, and web performance metrics.
- Work with monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, and Kibana.
- Implement CDN and security configuration changes during maintenance windows.
- Validate post-change functionality and rollback if required.
- Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and RCA reports.
- Support automation activities using APIs, CLI tools, and scripting.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
- Assist in operational improvements and process automation.
