Job summary

Cyient Limited is seeking experienced Design Engineers to support design and drafting tasks within aerospace programs. The role emphasizes concept design, drafting, and ensuring compliance with industry and customer standards.

You will use CATIA V5 for modeling, drafting and sheet metal, collaborate with project managers and manufacturing engineers, lead design reviews, and drive improvements while meeting timelines.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in design/manufacturing engineering within aerospace.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 (Part, Assembly, Drafting, Sheetmetal).
• Experience designing various aircraft structural components.
• Strong knowledge of PLM tools ENOVIA/Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and implement design and drafting tasks per project scope.
• Develop designs independently using CAD tools (CATIA V5).
• Collaborate with PMs, manufacturing engineers, QA, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with client teams and provide periodic project updates.
• Conduct design reviews and present technical findings.
• Ensure design tasks meet aerospace standards and customer expectations.
• Coordinate internal and customer communications, quality metrics, and summaries.
• Identify and mitigate design risks; drive continuous improvement in processes.
• Lead design projects and deliver results within tight timelines.

Job description

We are seeking experienced Design Engineers to support Design & drafting tasks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in Concept Design, drafting while ensuring compliance with industry and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. 1. Analyze and implement design & Drafting tasks, depending on the specific project and domain.
2. 3. Experience of independently developing designs using CAD Tools (CATIA primarily) for Modeling, Drafting.
3. 4. Collaborate closely with project managers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
4. 5. Responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with team members in client organizations and shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents.
5. 6. Conduct design reviews, present technical findings, and provide constructive feedback to junior engineers.
6. 7. Ensure all design tasks meet aerospace standards and customer expectations.
7. 8. Responsible for Co-ordination & Communication with internal team & Customer, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents
8. 9. Identify and mitigate design risks, propose innovative solutions to technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement in design processes.

Required Skills

1. 1. 5 to 10 years of experience in Design engineering /manufacturing engineering with in aerospace Domain.
2. 2. Demonstrated expertise in relation with CATIA V5 (Part, Assembly, Drafting, and Sheetmetal modules).
3. 3. Experience in design of various aircraft structural components.
4. 4. Proficiency in ENOVIA /Teamcenter for PLM operations.
5. 5. Solid understanding of engineering standards.
6. 6. Proven ability to lead design projects, manage multiple tasks, and deliver results within demanding timelines.
7. 7. Experience of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and DFMA principles
8. 8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills and critical thinking skills.
9. 9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

1. 1. B.Tech /BE /M.Tech /ME in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
2. 2. Experience in the aerospace sector is highly preferred.
