Job summary

Hero MotoCorp Ltd. in Haryana is seeking an experienced Reliability/QA Engineer for EV parts testing, DFMEA, PPAP, and quality planning within the New Model Development team. You will work with plant quality teams to drive BUQI-like improvements and ensure first-time-right parts.

Minimum 5 years in automobile part development with hands-on EV electrical parts testing and failure analysis is required. You will coordinate with Central and Internal teams, audit processes, and lead quality

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new model development with QA and plant quality teams.
• Lead DFMEA/PFMEA discussions for new components.
• Drive quality improvements and phase-wise testing (M1/PP1/PP2/SOP).
• Oversee lab readiness and testing of EV parts including traction battery testing.
• Collaborate with central and internal teams for event participation and issue closure.

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• Conducting of Internal & External Failures simulation on Test Track and identification of RCA @ Vehicle level.
• Simulation/Prepare Action Plan for Improvement & new features testing
• Identify Improvement projects, EOL testing cycle time improvement and enhancement
• Develop EV exclusive parts, and ensure vehicle integrations
• Plan, budget and execute test lab readiness at Plant / CRVT lab, for EV specific parts including Traction battery.
• Ensure/Improve performance of new product – Testing and Validation COP
• Ensure Conformity to Production through robust testing mechanisms, EOL upgrade
• Oversee the product manufacturing process to ensure quality
• Ensuring quality of the manufacturing processes at HMCL plants to ensure First Time Rights products
• Plan and Lead Quality improvement activities and Initiatives impacting ‘Build Up Quality’ & Vehicle performance testing.
• Conduct periodic BUQI audit along with stake holders as per the set parameters
• Identify the improvement area / non-conformance for further actions along with Stakeholders to improve BUQI
• Base Model@G4 / After Market MP /GB issues Resolution
• Gate tracking, Event trials, Dwg. Study.
• Alignment & senior review (MQ/GB/GPP/PL)
• Drive DFMEA / PFMEA practice within plant and supplier end
• Ensure CFT participation.
• CTQ identification and cascading

A purpose driven role for you

• Management & Establishment of New Model Development within the QA Team & working closely with plant quality team
• Co-ordinate with Central Team & Internal Team on the Events & Ensure Participation of specific internal Team in each events of New Model development.
• All the observation / issues capturing and closure at each event (M1/PP1/PP2/SOP)
• Review the Infrastructure upgradations / requirements and enhance the Testing ability of the testing Lab at Plant and Gurgaon facility for all EV parts including Traction battery testing.
• Build quality measurement criteria & action planning related to ECNs, EOL development etc.

A Day in the life

• Alignment with multiple stakeholders across the functions (CIT, Quality, overall CFT )
• Quality (along with cost) while choosing supplier First time right Approach with SS/VD as well as Proto machining route aligned with MP established Processes.
• DFMEA discussion on New Technological Parts- No Past Failure data / experience including Proprietary parts.
• Be able to frequently travel locally and internationally. In some cases, with a short notice
• Country specific statutory, regulatory and customer requirements of quality parameters.
• Trials, IQC, Feasibility studies, Base Model issue resolution, Product development (Activities from Concept to Launch)
• New vendor evaluation, QAVs, Maker Layout, Vendor development, Part development
• Supplier reviews/audits, NC closure, Maker Layout
• Assembly Trials, Common part issue resolution
• Base Model issue resolution, Market Issue resolution, Warranty analysis
• New Model Development
• Part and process development, QAVs

Academic Qualification & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in part development in automobile industry
• Good Technical / Hands-on experience on EV electrical parts testing w.r.t Failure diagnosis
