Employment Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Mid–Senior Level (5–10+ Years)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cardiology Application Support Engineer (L2/L3) to lead the advanced support, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of mission-critical Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS) and Cardiology PACS (CPACS).

In this role, you will be the technical backbone supporting high-stakes clinical areas including Cardiac Catheterization (Cath Lab), Electrophysiology (EP), Echocardiography, ECG/EKG, and Telemetry. You will work cross-functionally with cardiologists, clinical teams, third-party software vendors, and enterprise IT infrastructure teams to ensure zero downtime and optimal diagnostic imaging performance.

What You’ll Do

1. L2/L3 Incident & Problem Management

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex L2/L3 issues across cardiology applications, clinical workstations, device interfaces, and end-to-end workflows within defined SLAs.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring incidents, data discrepancies, and transmission failures.
  • Manage major incident resolution, coordinating directly with modalities, interface teams, and clinical departments to protect patient care continuity.

2. System Administration, Upgrades & Health Monitoring

  • Oversee routine administration, user provisioning, proactive system health checks, patching, testing, and version upgrades for enterprise cardiology platforms.
  • Monitor background batch jobs, data synchronization, interface queues, and study routing.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge-base articles, and disaster recovery runbooks.

3. Cardiology Domain & Modality Workflows

  • Imaging & CPACS: Troubleshoot DICOM study acquisition, modality worklists (MWL), study reconciliation, archiving, and advanced diagnostic viewing workstations.
  • ECG / EKG & Telemetry: Maintain ECG transmission pipelines, waveform acquisition, device gateways, and clinical review workflows.
  • Cath Lab & EP: Support procedural documentation systems, hemodynamics, device data transfer, and structured physician reporting.

4. Healthcare Integration & Interoperability

  • Diagnose and resolve interface bottlenecks spanning HL7 messages (ADT, ORM, ORU), DICOM transactions (C-STORE, C-FIND, C-MOVE), and EMR/EHR linkages.
  • Partner with interface teams to resolve patient mismatch issues, failed message queues, and cross-system data flow disruptions.
What You Bring to the Team
  • Domain Experience: 5–10+ years in Healthcare IT supporting clinical applications, specifically within Cardiology Informatics and Cardiovascular Imaging.
  • Core Application Expertise: Hands-on production support experience with one or more of the following:
  • Top Priority: Change Healthcare CPACS, Fujifilm Synapse Cardiology / CPACS, GE MUSE, GE CCW (Centricity Cardio Workflow)
  • Secondary / Valued: Philips ISCV, Philips Xper Information Management, GE Mac-Lab, Epiphany Cardiodispatch, PB3000
  • Protocols & Standards: Deep, practical troubleshooting expertise in DICOM and HL7 standards.
  • Infrastructure Fundamentals: Strong competency with Windows client/server platforms, basic SQL querying/database diagnostics, network connectivity analysis, and diagnostic hardware setups.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Proven ability to communicate effectively under pressure with clinicians, physicians, cardiologists, and application vendors.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience working within multi-site health systems, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), or large hospital enterprise networks.
  • Direct participation in CPACS migrations, large-scale software rollouts, or Go-Live cutovers.
Why Join Us?
  • Work at the intersection of cutting-edge health-tech and life‑saving clinical workflows.
  • Dynamic, collaborative engineering culture solving complex interoperability challenges.
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive health benefits, and continuous professional development opportunities.
