Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer with expertise in Ansys Mechanical-FEA (WORKBENCH/CLOUD) & Fluent, with basic knowledge of SOLIDWORKS for simulations focused on EV battery design and development. The ideal candidate shall possess comprehensive knowledge in structural analysis, vibration analysis, reliability and crash safety.
Educational Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in CAE – Analysis with ANSYS Tool in Electric Vehicle (EV) or similar industries.
Key / Mandatory Skills to have
- Proven experience and expertise in Ansys Mechanical-FEA (Workbench)
- Hands on experience with SOLIDWORKS tool for CAD modelling
- In-depth knowledge of structural analysis, model analysis, vibration analysis, reliability and crash safety analysis
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to optimize designs through simulation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Previous experience in leading simulation-driven projects, preferably in the automotive or electric vehicle industry
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to EV battery safety, performance, and EMI compliance
Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyse the geometries, provide feedback on potential interferences. Modify/simplify the geometries for analysis.
- Define contacts, perform the meshing, check the mesh quality.
- Identify the boundary conditions by correlating the models with actual use cases.
- Lead and execute simulations using Ansys Workbench to optimize the design and performance of EV batteries.
- Provide feedback to design team for the necessary structural modifications and the battery thermal management materials.
- Conduct advanced structural analysis to ensure the durability, strength, and safety of battery components under various operational conditions.
- Perform vibration analysis to evaluate the structural integrity and enhance battery reliability and mitigate potential failure modes.
- Conduct reliability and crash safety analyses to optimize battery designs for robustness and compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in the FMEA meetings, provide inputs for potential failure modes and identify and implement potential design controls.
- Develop and refine battery models to simulate behaviour and performance across different operational scenarios.
- Utilize CFD techniques to perform detailed thermal analysis of battery cells and modules, ensuring efficient heat dissipation and thermal management.
- Perform electrochemical studies for capacity fade and degradation analysis.
- Understand the various cell chemistries and optimize the pack design through different modules of simulations.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including design, testing, and manufacturing to integrate simulation results into the battery development process.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers in simulation methodologies and best practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in simulation techniques relevant to EV battery design.
