Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Mumbai is seeking a skilled CAD designer to develop 3D models and detailed drawings for motors, gearboxes, and components. You will document files using a PDM system and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate engineering data.

The role emphasizes proficiency in SolidWorks for parametric design, 2D drafting, and adherence to drafting standards, with opportunities to work on assemblies and documentation across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS for 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Experience with CAD modeling of parts, surfaces, assemblies, and configurations.
• Ability to create 3D assemblies with proper constraints.
• Knowledge of drafting standards such as ASME Y14.5 and ISO 2768-1.
• Familiarity with PDM/DDM data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models of components and assemblies as directed by design and sustenance teams.
• Create 2D drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ISO 2768-1.
• Document and upload 2D/3D files in the PDM/DDM database.
• Possibly perform kinematic simulations or animations in SolidWorks.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Summary

This position is responsible for creating 3D models and detailed drawings of electric Motor, Gearbox & its components and assemblies. These 3D, 2D files will be documented with DDM (a kind of PDM software).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Here are your key responsibilities:

• Prepare 3D models of components and assembly as advised by design & sustenance team
• Prepare 2D drawings as per ASME Y 14.5 & ISO 2768-1.
• Support in documenting / uploading 2D, 3D files in DDM (data base software)
• Knowledge of kinematic simulation, animation for mechanism in SolidWorks would be optional
• Working effectively with an engineering and cross-functional team.

Critical Competencies

To excel in this role, you should possess the following competencies:

• Excellent hands-on experience in SOLIDWORKS is mandatory for parametric 3D and 2D drawings.
• Proficient in CAD modeling of parts, surface, assembly, animation, configurations.
• Should be able to make 3D assembly with full logical constraining.
• In detail knowledge on 2D drafting with associated 3D models
• Good knowledge and application of GD&T.
• Knowledge of stack-up analysis of assembly on 3D software’s
• Good knowledge of PDM/DDM software.
• Ability to think in three dimensions and visualize complex structures
• Good understanding of engineering principles.
• Basic knowledge of Excel.

Education And Experience Requirements

ITI / Diploma Mechanical Engineering with 1-4 years of experience
