Job summary

Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. We seek a Mechanical & CAD Engineer for remote, contract-based work to deliver high-quality training data for AI models using Mac-based CAD tools.

You will own CAD tasks, evaluate model performance, and explain engineering choices. 2–3 years of ME experience or a Master’s candidate, MacBook ownership, and strong communication are required. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience or currently pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in Mac-compatible CAD tools such as Fusion 360, Onshape, Shapr3D, or FreeCAD.
• Own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete and narrate real mechanical design and CAD tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models.
• Evaluate and improve AI model performance through structured engineering workflows.
• Provide clear explanations of engineering decisions to enhance model reasoning.
• Work independently with flexible hours to meet project deadlines.
• Collaborate asynchronously to support AI research objectives.

Position: Mechanical & CAD Engineers (Must own MacBook)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–20 hours/week
