Job summary

Egis is seeking an experienced CAD Draftsman for rail and road infrastructure projects in Bengaluru, India. You will prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings, ensure compliance with project standards, and create templates and CAD libraries for efficient workflows.

Using Bentley MicroStation V8i/CONNECT Edition, you will manage references, levels, and sheet models, coordinate with engineers and other disciplines, support design reviews, and help produce as-built drawings at project handover.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation (V8i and CONNECT Edition) – essential.
• Strong knowledge of railway and highway design drawings.
• Experience in road and railway alignment drafting, including geometric plans, profiles, and sections.
• Understanding of civil and structural drafting related to transportation projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for rail and road projects, including track layouts, cross-sections, and roadway plans.
• Utilize Bentley MicroStation for drafting and design, manage references, levels, and sheet models.
• Collaborate with engineers, survey teams, and designers to ensure design intent is captured and outputs are clash-free.
• Perform self-checks and maintain version-controlled drawings; assist in producing as-built drawings at handover.

Job Description

1. CAD Drafting & Drawing Preparation Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for rail and road projects, including: Track layouts and alignment plans Cross-sections and longitudinal profiles Roadway plans and typical sections Civil and structural layouts related to transportation projects Ensure drawings comply with project standards, codes, and client requirements. Create and maintain drawing templates, title blocks, and CAD libraries for efficient workflows.

2. MicroStation Expertise Utilize Bentley MicroStation V8i / CONNECT Edition for drafting and design. Manage reference files, levels, and sheet models to maintain model integrity. Implement CAD standards and workflows, including layer management, symbology, and annotation styles. Support the integration of BIM processes where applicable.

3. Collaboration & Coordination Work closely with engineers, survey teams, and designers to ensure design intent is accurately captured in drawings. Coordinate with other disciplines such as structures, drainage, and utilities for clash-free, integrated outputs. Support design teams during design reviews, approvals, and stakeholder presentations.

4. Quality Control & Documentation Perform self-checks on drawings to maintain accuracy and compliance. Ensure drawings are version-controlled and properly documented. Assist in compiling as-built drawings at the completion of projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:
