Job summary

LAT Aerospace in Bengaluru is seeking a CAD Design Engineer with at least 2 years of professional CAD experience to translate specifications into detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for aerospace components.

You will apply DFM, manage complex assemblies, prepare BOMs, and ensure designs meet industry standards, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams. You’ll participate in design reviews and contribute to prototypes and flight-test readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional CAD design experience.
• Demonstrated detailed CAD design, assembly, and drafting skills.
• Proficiency with multiple CAD packages (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, NX, Creo).
• Expertise in CAD assembly techniques for large parts and assemblies.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and GD&T standards.

At LAT Aerospace, we’re building India’s first clean-sheet hybrid-electric STOL aircraft and a next-generation family of gas-turbine engines. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Design Engineer with a minimum of two years of professional experience in CAD design. This role involves translating engineering specifications into detailed 3D models and 2D drawings that meet design requirements and are optimized for efficient production.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using various industrial CAD software.

• Apply principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to ensure models are optimized for cost-effective and efficient production methods.

• Create complex CAD assemblies, performing interference checks and ensuring proper fit and function of all components.

• Collaborate with the engineering and manufacturing teams to refine designs based on feasibility, performance, and cost constraints.

• Prepare and manage engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs) and specification sheets.

• Ensure all designs and drawings comply with relevant industry standards and internal quality requirements.

• Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise and support to project teams.

• Manage and organize CAD files and data within the company’s Product Data Management (PDM) system.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a CAD Design Engineer or a similar role.

• Demonstrated experience in detailed CAD design, assembly, and drafting.

• Proven proficiency with multiple industrial CAD software packages (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo).

• Expertise in CAD Assembly techniques, including managing complex assemblies with thousands of parts.

• Strong understanding and application of CAD Design for Manufacturing (DFM), including knowledge of additive and subtractive processes.

• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.

Bonus Skill:

Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems.
