Job description

Production & Manufacturing Engineer

Full-Time | Core Team

LAT Aerospace | Aircraft

LAT Aerospace is developing next-generation hybrid-electric aircraft through rapid design, prototyping, and testing. We are looking for a Production & Manufacturing Engineer who can transform engineering designs into repeatable, high-quality hardware while maintaining the speed of a startup.

This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing engineering, supply chain, production planning, and operations. You will be responsible for building the systems that allow our engineering team to move fast without compromising quality, reliability, or execution.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes for aircraft structures, propulsion systems, and prototype hardware.
  • Translate engineering designs into efficient manufacturing and assembly workflows.
  • Plan and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of hardware.
  • Optimize machine utilization, workshop layout, and technician allocation to maximize productivity.
  • Identify manufacturing bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase throughput.
  • Develop work instructions, assembly procedures, quality checklists, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Work closely with design engineers to improve manufacturability and reduce production complexity.
  • Manage procurement timelines and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, fabrication partners, and machine shops.
  • Drive inventory management, material planning, and production readiness.
  • Establish quality control processes and ensure hardware meets engineering and manufacturing standards.
  • Support rapid prototype builds while preparing processes that can scale into low-volume production.
  • Track manufacturing metrics including lead time, yield, rework, and production efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong fundamentals in manufacturing engineering, production systems, and mechanical engineering.
  • Experience working with industry-standard CAD software and engineering drawings.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes for mechanical or aerospace products.
  • Familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication, composites, welding, additive manufacturing, and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Experience with production planning, inventory management, and supply chain coordination.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Experience implementing quality control processes and root-cause analysis for manufacturing issues.
  • Comfortable working with prototype hardware, machine shops, technicians, and external suppliers.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel builds.
  • Ability to balance rapid prototyping with high-quality execution and on-time delivery.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or other high-performance hardware manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Why LAT?
  • No hierarchy beyond strength of ideas.
  • Rapid hardware iteration culture.
  • Clean-sheet programs.
  • Build the manufacturing systems that enable next-generation aircraft.
  • Own the complete journey from engineering design to flight-ready hardware.
  • Opportunity to help define how aerospace products are built in India from the ground up.
