Job summary

Bacancy Systems in India is seeking a Mechanical CAD/CAM Designer with 2+ years of experience to produce precise 2D drawings, 3D models and manufacturing documentation, collaborating with engineering and production teams.

You will design sheet-metal enclosures, verify PCB mounting arrangements, support prototype assembly and drive design improvements, while applying CAM tools to CNC processes and ensuring revisions are up to date.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical CAD/CAM design.
• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo or CATIA.
• Understanding of 2D drafting, 3D modelling, GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet-metal fabrication, and material selection.
• Exposure to CAM software and CNC machining is a plus.
• Strong collaboration with engineering and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Design and develop sheet-metal enclosures for electronic products, considering component placement, connector access, ventilation, structural strength, manufacturability, and ease of assembly and maintenance.
• Design and verify PCB mounting arrangements, connector cutouts, fastener selection, component clearances, and interference checks in CAD models and physical prototypes.
• Actively support prototype assembly, verify actual parts against drawings, and identify and resolve fitment, assembly, and manufacturing issues.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and fabrication teams to implement design improvements based on prototype testing, feedback, and production requirements.
• Use CAM tools to support manufacturing processes and CNC machining, wherever applicable.
• Maintain drawing revisions, update CAD models and documentation after modifications, and ensure the latest approved files are released for manufacturing.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Mechanical CAD/CAM design.
• Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or CATIA.
• Understanding of 2D drafting, 3D modelling, assemblies, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, sheet-metal fabrication, and material selection.
• Exposure to CAM software and CNC machining will be an advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and production teams.
