Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an experienced Cable Design Engineer in India to lead end-to-end design, installation and engineering of high-voltage and HVDC cables for large-scale infrastructure projects.

You will perform sizing, route surveys, installation methodologies, and oversee jointing/terminations across 132kV to 500kV/HVDC systems, with a preference for submarine cable exposure and CYMCAP software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience with high voltage cable design and installation.
• Exposure to 132kV, 275kV, 400kV and HVDC 500kV projects.
• Familiarity with insulation types and jointing/terminations.
• Proficiency in CYMCAP or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on cable design and sizing.
• Perform ampacity calculations for HV cables.
• Plan installation methods and routing for HV/LV cables.
• Conduct route surveys and desktop surveys.
• Oversee jointing and termination activities.
• Coordinate cable laying and trenching.
• Evaluate submarine cables experience (preferred).
• Utilize CYMCAP for design analysis.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cable Design Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in the design, installation, and engineering of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage power cables. The role involves end-to-end cable engineering activities, including design calculations, route surveys, installation methodologies, and coordination of jointing and termination works for large-scale infrastructure projects.
