Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in India is seeking an experienced Cable Design Engineer to lead end‑to‑end design, installation and testing of high‑voltage and extra‑high‑voltage power cables for large infrastructure projects. You will perform sizing, ampacity calculations, route surveys, and coordinate installation methods for complex HVDC systems.

You will also manage jointing, terminations, trenching and laying approaches, with submarine cable exposure considered an asset; CYMCAP proficiency is desired.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in cable design for HV/HVDC systems.
• Experience with 132kV, 275kV, 400kV and HVDC ~500kV projects.
• Hands-on design, routing, installation and testing activities.
• Familiarity with submarine cables is a plus.
• Proficiency in CYMCAP or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end cable design activities for large projects.
• Perform sizing, ampacity calculations and route surveys.
• Coordinate installation methods, jointing and terminations.
• Develop trench, duct bank and laying strategies.
• Support installation and commissioning with field teams.

We are seeking an experienced Cable Design Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in the design, installation, and engineering of high‑voltage and extra‑high‑voltage power cables. The role involves end‑to‑end cable engineering activities, including design calculations, route surveys, installation methodologies, and coordination of jointing and termination works for large‑scale infrastructure projects.

Your role

• Cable design hands on experience.

• Voltage levels 132kV, 275kV, 400kV and HVDC 500Kv.
• Type of insulation.
• Installation and Laying.

• If experience in Sub‑marine cables ( preferrable ).
• Software CYMCAP etc.
• Experience 5 to 10 years.
