Job summary

Tata Elxsi, Inc. is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to contribute to Linux-based systems. You will work on design, implementation, and testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.

You should have strong C/C++ skills, knowledge of embedded Linux, OOP concepts, and experience with UML diagrams and design patterns. Some exposure to CAN/J1939 and DevOps tools is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in developing software for Linux-based embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns.
• Familiar with UML diagrams and clean coding practices.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code from scratch and debug memory/performance issues.

Job description

Role Overview

• Understand the system requirements, discuss with the system team, and prepare software requirements.
• Analyze the existing code based on software requirements, create the design, prepare test plans, implement code changes, and perform testing.
• Review code developed by the team, support the team in identifying the root cause of bugs, and review proposed fixes.
• Analyze issues reported by various validation teams, identify the root cause, and propose possible solutions.
• Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings, customer meetings, and global customer meetings.

Expectations

• Strong development experience in Embedded C/ C++, C++11, and C++14.
• 4+ years of experience in developing software for Linux-based embedded systems.
• Good practical knowledge of OOPS concepts.
• Understanding of different UML diagrams.
• Ability to write clean code from scratch.
• Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve memory and performance issues.
