Job summary

Yamaha Motor Solutions in India seeks an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer with 8+ years in automotive embedded systems to drive hardware-software integration on 32-bit microcontrollers.

You will translate requirements into technical tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams as a senior contributor on system architecture, debugging, and validation.

The role emphasizes in-depth knowledge of MCUs, RTOS, and automotive protocols with hands-on HW/SW debugging experience.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with 32-bit MCUs (STM32, NXP, Renesas, TI, Microchip).
• Strong C/C++ skills with exposure to Assembly.
• Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, QNX, etc.
• Developed HAL, BSP, and low-level drivers for embedded targets.
• Knowledge of peripherals (ADC, DAC, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN/CAN FD, RS485, DMA, Ethernet, SD/eMMC, SDIO).
• Experience with automotive protocols CAN, CAN FD, LIN, J1939, UDS.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design reviews, hardware validation, and issue resolution.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

• Strong experience with 32-bit microcontrollers such as STM32, NXP, Renesas, TI, Microchip, etc.
• Excellent knowledge of C/C++ programming and exposure to Assembly.
• Strong experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, C/OS, embOS, VxWorks, QNX, etc.
• Hands-on experience in developing HAL, BSP and low-level device drivers.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and interfaces** including ADC, DAC, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN/CAN FD, RS485, DMA, Ethernet, SD/eMMC, SDIO, etc.
• Strong experience with Automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, LIN, J1939 and UDS.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR concepts and architecture is an advantage.
• Experience with automotive diagnostics, ECU communication, and vehicle network architecture.
• Hands-on experience using Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Function Generator, Multimeter and other debugging equipment.
• Experience in board bring-up, hardware-software integration and debugging of embedded boards.
• Ability to debug power, clock, reset, communication interfaces, and peripheral-related hardware issues at board level.
• Good understanding of schematics, PCB layouts and electronic circuits around microcontrollers and ARM-based systems.
• Ability to work closely with hardware engineers for design reviews, component selection, hardware validation, and issue resolution.
• Experience with prototype board testing, hardware validation, and root-cause analysis of HW/SW issues.
• Experience in reverse engineering and debugging of embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture and system-level design.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and/or RTOS-based systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including OSI layers, TCP/IP stacks and common IP protocols is a plus.
• Knowledge of NMEA/NMEA 2000 standards is a plus.
• Exposure to ASPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA-C and automotive cybersecurity is an advantage.
• Experience with automotive development and debugging tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer is a plus.
