Job summary

Option Us in Pune is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop, test and maintain firmware for switch and display products. You will write embedded C/C++ for 8/16/32‑bit MCUs and integrate with hardware under the Design Head (Electronics).

Experience with hardware–software integration, unit/integration testing and debugging is required. Automotive exposure is a plus; candidate from other industries are welcome.

Qualifications

• Strong embedded C programming and microcontroller fundamentals.
• Peripheral drivers and serial communication (UART, SPI, IC, CAN).
• Interrupts, timers, state machines and basic RTOS concepts.
• Reading schematics and datasheets; hands‑on lab debugging.
• Version control (Git) and structured testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain firmware in embedded C/C++ on 8/16/32-bit MCUs.
• Implement application logic switch input handling, debounce, timers, PWM/LED control, state machines and fault handling.
• Write device drivers for GPIO, ADC, timers, PWM, UART, SPI, IC and CAN.
• Optimise code for memory, speed, low power and reliability.
• Work with hardware engineers to bring up boards and debug hardware–software issues.
• Use debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic and CAN analysers to fix problems.
• Write unit and integration tests; support system, validation and EMC testing.

Role & responsibilities

Develop, test and maintain embedded software for our switch and display products, working under the Design Head (Electronics). The engineer writes firmware on microcontrollers, integrates it with hardware, and supports testing through to production. Automotive experience is an advantage; strong engineers from other industries are welcome to apply.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Embedded Software Development

• Develop and maintain firmware in embedded C/C++ on 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers.
• Implement application logic switch input handling, debounce, timers, PWM/LED control, state machines and fault handling.
• Write device drivers for peripherals – GPIO, ADC, timers, PWM, UART, SPI, IC and CAN.
• Optimise code for memory, speed, low power and reliability.

B. Hardware–Software Integration

• Work with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug hardware–software issues.
• Use debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic and CAN analysers to find and fix problems.

C. Testing and Quality

• Write unit and integration tests; support system, validation and EMC testing.
• Preferred candidate profile

• Display / HMI software – TFT graphics (LVGL, TouchGFX, Qt or similar), touch screen and Bluetooth/BLE.
