Designation : Business head EMS Business
Location: Surat
Purpose the Role :
The Business head - EMS Business will be responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations, supply chain, quality, engineering, production planning, industrialization, and operational excellence across the EMS business.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Lead end-to-end operations of the EMS manufacturing business.
- Drive manufacturing excellence across Solar Inverters, PCS, BMS, EMS Controllers, Smart Meters, PCB Assembly, and final product integration.
- Ensure achievement of production, quality, cost, delivery, and safety targets.
- Develop scalable manufacturing systems to support future business growth.
Manufacturing Excellence
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, yield, and capacity utilization.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, Industry 4.0, and automation initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on quality, cost reduction, and cycle-time improvement.
- Optimize plant layout, material flow, and production efficiency.
Production Planning & Supply Chain
- Oversee production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and logistics.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of electronic components and critical materials.
- Build resilient supplier partnerships and strengthen localization initiatives.
- Improve inventory turns and working capital efficiency.
Quality & Reliability
- Establish world-class quality systems covering incoming, in-process, and final product quality.
- Drive zero-defect manufacturing through robust process controls and root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, BIS, IEC, and customer quality standards.
- Lead customer audits and corrective/preventive action programs.
Engineering & New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and R&D for seamless industrialization of new products.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives.
- Ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production.
Commercial & Customer Delivery
- Work closely with Sales and Business Development teams to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Enhance customer satisfaction through operational excellence and on-time delivery.
- Support strategic customers during product qualification and scale-up.
Financial & Cost Management
- Manage manufacturing budgets and operational costs.
- Drive productivity improvement, cost optimization, and EBITDA enhancement.
- Monitor manufacturing KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
People Leadership
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Drive employee engagement,capability development, and succession planning.
