Job summary

Head Hunters in India seeks a seasoned Factory Head to oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations for electronics production. You will lead cross‑functional teams including production, quality, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure on-time delivery and sustained productivity.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of total experience in manufacturing/operations.
• Minimum 5+ years in Plant Head / Factory Head / Operations Head / Manufacturing Head role.
• Strong experience in electronics manufacturing / EMS / ODM / OEM / consumer electronics.
• Experience managing large manufacturing teams across multiple plant functions.

Responsibilities

• Take complete responsibility for day-to-day factory operations and manufacturing performance.
• Lead Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, PPC, SCM and other plant functions.
• Ensure achievement of daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
• Monitor KPIs including OEE, FPY, productivity, rejection, yield, downtime and OTD.
• Ensure smooth coordination among production, quality, engineering, purchase and supply chain teams.
• Supervise SMT, PCB/PCBA operations and optimize material flow.
• Develop and execute production plans according to customer requirements.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement across the plant.
• Coordinate with Chinese technical teams, ODM/OEM partners and suppliers.
• Travel to China when required for supplier visits and tech discussions.

Job description

The candidate must be fluent in Mandarin/Chinese and English, as the role requires regular communication with Chinese suppliers, customers, technical teams and Indian management. NEED CHINESE NATIONAL for this role.

Key Responsibilities

A. Overall Factory Operations

• Take complete responsibility for day-to-day factory operations and manufacturing performance.
• Lead Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, PPC, SCM and other plant functions.
• Ensure achievement of daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
• Monitor KPIs including OEE, FPY, productivity, rejection, yield, downtime and On-Time Delivery (OTD).
• Ensure smooth coordination among production, quality, engineering, purchase and supply chain teams.

B. Electronics Manufacturing

• Supervise and optimize SMT, PCB/PCBA and electronic product assembly operations.
• Ensure efficient material flow from SMT to final assembly and testing.
• Improve line balancing, cycle time, manpower productivity and equipment utilization.
• Ensure proper implementation of manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

C. Production Planning & Productivity

• Develop and execute production plans according to customer requirements.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials and factory capacity.
• Improve production efficiency and reduce manufacturing losses.
• Drive productivity improvement and capacity expansion initiatives.
• Ensure timely ramp-up of new products and production lines.

D. Quality Management

• Work closely with the Quality Head to maintain high-quality standards.
• Drive zero-defect manufacturing and continuous quality improvement.
• Reduce rejection, rework, customer complaints and process defects.
• Support internal, customer and certification audits.
• Ensure effective implementation of Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, 5 Why, Fishbone and other problem-solving methodologies.

E. Cost Control & Operational Excellence

• Drive manufacturing cost reduction without compromising quality.
• Control manpower, material, energy, maintenance and operational costs.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma and continuous improvement practices.
• Improve OEE, yield and overall plant profitability.

F. Equipment & Maintenance

• Ensure maximum availability and reliability of SMT and assembly equipment.
• Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Reduce machine downtime and improve MTBF/MTTR.
• Coordinate machine installation, commissioning and capacity expansion.

G. New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Work closely with R&D, Engineering and Production teams for NPI activities.
• Ensure smooth transfer of new products from development to mass production.
• Support DFM/DFA, process validation, pilot production and production ramp-up.
• Coordinate with Chinese technical teams, ODM/OEM partners and suppliers.

H. Team & People Management

• Lead and develop a large, cross-functional manufacturing team.
• Build a strong performance-driven factory culture.
• Develop training and skill-development programs for technical and shop-floor employees.
• Identify and develop second-line leadership.
• Maintain discipline, accountability and effective communication across departments.

I. Chinese Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with Chinese suppliers, equipment manufacturers, technology partners and customers.
• Support sourcing and evaluation of Chinese manufacturing technologies and equipment.
• Facilitate communication between Chinese technical teams and Indian operations.
• Travel to China when required for supplier visits, technology transfer, equipment procurement and technical discussions.

3. Candidate Profile

• Nationality: Chinese
• Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering. MBA/Management qualification will be an advantage.
• 15+ years of total experience in manufacturing/operations.
• Minimum 5+ years in Plant Head / Factory Head / Operations Head / Manufacturing Head role preferred.
