Job summary

Smith + Nephew in Pune, India, is seeking a Business Continuity Analyst to help implement the global BCM program and work with site and business teams to ensure rapid recovery from disruptions.

Responsibilities include BIA, risk assessments, BC plan development, training and exercises, Everbridge configuration, and governance reporting to the Director of Global Business Resiliency & Continuity Management. Hybrid work is supported for most professional roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations, Risk/ Assurance or related field.
• 5+ years in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, crisis management, or risk management.
• Certifications CBCP or CBCI preferred; ABCP or AMBCI acceptable with upgrade plan.
• Travel up to 10–15% globally.

Responsibilities

• Deliver BCM consulting and services to global teams; facilitate BIAs and risk assessments.
• Support BC Plan development, maintenance and reviews across sites/functions.
• Assist in annual BC Plan exercises and education of teams on BCM concepts.
• Assist with Everbridge configuration and maintenance for authorized admins globally.
• Prepare governance reports for BCM Steering Committee and senior leadership.

Business Continuity Analyst (Pune – India)

This role is responsible for assisting in the implementing the global Business Continuity Program's strategies and processes across S+N sites and business units to ensure a site or function can recover quickly and effectively from business interrupting incidents. The Business Continuity Analyst will work directly with business teams to provide BCM professional practices including, but not limited to BC Education and Awareness; Business Impact Analyses (BIA); Risk Assessments; BC Plan development; Crisis Management support; Training & Exercise support; program maintenance; etc. This role reports to the Director, Global Business Resiliency & Continuity Management.

What will you be doing?

• Deliver Business Continuity & Resiliency SME consultative and customer service to global matrix business teams : Facilitate Business Impact Analyses and BC Risk Assessments; support site and function team leaders in BC Plan development and maintenance; conduct BC Plan reviews; provide guidance for annual BC Plan exercises; educate site and function teams on BC Program concepts.
• Assist with the training, configuration, implementation and maintenance of S+N's Emergency Notification System (Everbridge) to authorized administrators globally.
• Assist in the development, review, and enhancement of BC program policies, processes, guidelines, and tools.
• Assist with compiling program governance and management reports for the BCM Steering Committee, Operations Leadership, Crisis Management Team, Audit, etc.
• Collaborate with various S+N supporting teams on integrated programs, projects and initiatives (DR, ERM, HSE, Supply Chain, Facilities, Communications, etc.).
• Support local sites and business teams during significant incidents/crises (weather, conflicts/war, cyber-attacks, social unrest, pandemics, etc.) as needed.

What will you need to be Successful?

• Education: Bachelor's degree (Business, Information Systems, Operations, Risk/Assurance or related fields)
• Certifications: Business Continuity Certification – either CBCP or CBCI; will consider ABCP or AMBCI level with the intent of certification upgrade to CBCI or CBCP within the first year of employment.
• Experience: 5+ years in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, crisis management, emergency management, or risk management
• Travel: <10-15% global travel.
